We have really enjoyed our Forest School sessions this half term. Look at these amazing wooden fungi that we crafted! Some of us have painted them, some have chosen to leave them plain and some of us will finish them after the half term break. They really are stunning!

Forest School
Posted in Forest SchoolWe identified trees in Coombe Woods , enjoyed some hot chocolate and played hide and seek. Then in the afternoon we used a mallet, saw and billhook to craft our own wooden fungi. We also had fun playing, working together, making and creating on the Willowbank.
Coombe Woods
Posted in English, Forest SchoolWe went to the woods to learn our lines for ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and noticed many more changes to the flora. We enjoyed our lunch in the shade and played ninja in the trees.
Forest School
Posted in Drama, Forest School, InspirationWe had a wonderful morning walking through the woods thinking about where different parts of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ could be set. We found so many magical places and came up with brilliant ideas. The flora had changed since last week-the ferns seemed to have grown so much with the rain we have had.
We then spent some quiet time noticing how we felt and observed what we could hear and see. The peace of this beautiful place inspired us to write stories, poetry and sketch.
We ended our session with some forest bathing and came back to school feeling amazing!
